Moon Musing Mixes – Full Moon in Taurus

Ok so it’s been almost 2 weeks since the Taurus mix and I’m just getting around to the recap now. Not too sure what the hell happened to the time but here it is for anyone who’s actually reading these. Lol.

I remember the days leading up to the mix itself, I was feeling pretty at peace about the upcoming mix. Sometimes there’s this apprehension and nerves that start to show their faces right before I’m about to begin. I’m pretty sure that’s normal for most of us when we’re about to do something we haven’t done before. I tend to put this pressure on myself but I’m realizing more and more than just relaxing and giving into the process is generating the best results for me. Although that’s how I was feeling pre-mix, I was reminded yet again about this during the process as I was hit with an all too familiar sense of doubt.

Some of the deductions I had been making around sound and they’re relation to the elemental modalities seemed to be in conflict with something I discovered during this installment…or so it seemed. I had been working on this idea that the different elements had unique sound characteristics that would dominate the mix and stand out far beyond the other sounds. This was pretty apparent in the Aries, Virgo & Libra mixes but it was turning out that things for the Taurus full moon mix were not following that pattern. It immediately made me feel like maybe I had made a mistake on this one. Did I need to restart the process? Had I gotten it all wrong? I actually don’t think so at all.

Taurus is all about the senses and the natural world. How could I embody that in a musical mix without letting the other elements stand out more than they might have in some of the other signs so far? The path that I had chosen to follow for this mix was more about the journey of the sounds that it was about very specific sounds themselves. The whole mix is an adventure. It takes you through something when you listen to it from start to end. It’s an undeniable part of the experience. It’s extremely sensory…like you can almost imagine yourself in these lush landscapes. It’s about allowing the sounds to create a world for you as the listener.

I’ve listened to the mix so many times now and the times where I’ve put my headphones on and left the house on a walk, I’ve seen the message come alive. I can see and feel what was trying to come to the foreground and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. This whole thing is one big research experiment and each time I go through another round, I’m experiencing new revelations. It’s thrilling and I’m excited to see where this next leg of the adventure takes me.

I absolutely love these reflections on your work. They really show the depth of thought that goes through this project. I truly appreciate your vulnerability with created these mixes on how YOU interpret the modes and elements of each moon sign. When you’re creating art, there is no wrong answer. These mixes are incredibly you! They seem as though they speak your truth, and that’s so beautiful. You are absolutely right in that listening to these mixes while outside, or being with it’s particular element is so powerful!! You are creating incredible work and I’m very excited to read more of your reflections for your future mixes. Just think, maybe when these moons happen again years into the future you can look back at these reflections to see how you feel about them then. We are all sending you so much love and support!
